How Long Does It Take to Get Chinese EV Parts? Quote, Dispatch and Delivery Times by Region

Short answer: with EV Crate you receive an official quotation within 48 hours of your request. Once your order is confirmed, in-stock parts are dispatched within 1–3 business days and then take about 5–10 business days by express courier to most destinations worldwide: the EU and UK, Russia and the CIS, North America, the Middle East, Africa, South-East Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Latin America. High-voltage battery components travel by sea and take 30–45 days.

Last updated: 1 October 2026. All times are estimates from our Shipping Policy, not guarantees. Customs clearance can add time.

The five stages, step by step

  1. You submit a request (instant). Add the parts to your cart, enter your delivery address and choose how you want to hear back: email, WhatsApp, Telegram or phone. There is no payment at this stage.
  2. We send an official quotation (within 48 hours). We confirm the parts are available, work out the exact shipping cost to your country and send a formal quotation with the final total and the payment methods for your region.
  3. You pay (your timing). Bank transfer, secure card link, WeChat Pay or Alipay, depending on your region. Most customers pay within a day of receiving the quotation.
  4. We dispatch (1–3 business days for in-stock parts). Every shipment is insured and gets a tracking number by email.
  5. Your parts are delivered, usually 5–10 business days after dispatch (see below).

Delivery times by shipping method

  • Express courier (DHL, FedEx, UPS): 5–10 business days to most destinations worldwide, including the EU and UK, Russia and the CIS, North America, the Middle East, Africa, South-East Asia, Australia and New Zealand, and Latin America.
  • Sea freight (bulk orders): 15–35 business days. The cheapest option for large or heavy shipments.
  • High-voltage batteries: sea freight only, 30–45 days door to door (see below).

You choose the shipping method at checkout, and the exact shipping cost is confirmed in your quotation.

A worked example

Say you send a request on a Monday for a part that is in stock:

  • By Wednesday: you receive the official quotation.
  • Wednesday: you approve it and pay.
  • Thursday to the following Monday: the part is dispatched.
  • 5–10 business days later: it arrives by express courier.

In most cases that is roughly two to three weeks from request to delivery. Customs checks, public holidays and remote delivery addresses can add a few days.

Why some parts take longer

High-voltage batteries

Battery packs, modules and cells are classified as dangerous goods (UN3480 or UN3481). They cannot be shipped by air express: they travel by approved sea freight in UN-certified packaging, which takes 30–45 days door to door. A dangerous-goods surcharge applies and is confirmed in your quotation.

Customs clearance

  • EU: orders under €150 are cleared with VAT included at checkout (IOSS). Larger orders may need local customs clearance, and import VAT and duties are paid by the buyer unless stated otherwise.
  • UK: orders under £135 include UK VAT at checkout. Larger orders may be charged import duty and VAT on delivery.
  • Everywhere else: import duties, customs fees and local taxes are paid by the recipient.

Parts that are not in stock

The quotation confirms availability before you pay, so you know the situation up front rather than after you have paid.

Five ways to get your parts faster

  1. Include your VIN and, if you have it, the OEM part number in your request. It removes back-and-forth about fitment.
  2. Send a photo of the old part and its label if you are unsure which variant you need.
  3. Choose a contact channel you check often. WhatsApp is usually the fastest way to receive and approve your quotation.
  4. Pay soon after you approve the quotation, as dispatch starts once payment is confirmed.
  5. Double-check your delivery address. Orders over €200 need a signature, and high-voltage parts cannot go to a PO box.

Tracking, insurance and lost parcels

Every shipment is insured and tracked, and the tracking number is emailed to you at dispatch. If a parcel is lost or badly delayed, we file the claim with the carrier for you and, once the claim is accepted, re-ship your order or refund it.
